I'm gonna dance for You
Like nobody's watching, nobody's watching me
Dance for You my Lord
I'm gonna sing for You
Like nobody's listening, nobody's listening
Sing for You my Lord
I'm not holding anything anything back
I will worship You with all that I am
(Chorus)
I'm not ashamed to worship the name of Jesus Jesus
I'm not ashamed to shout out the name of the Lord
(Repeat)
I'm gonna worship You
Like nothing else matters, nothing else matters
Worship You my Lord
I'm gonna worship You
Like nothing else matters, nothing else matters
Worship You my Lord
I'm not holding anything anything back
I will worship You with all that I am
(Chorus)
Lord I'm gonna dance for You, Lord I'm gonna sing for You
Lord I'm gonna worship You, I'm not afraid, I'm not ashamed
Nothing's gonna hinder me, nothing's gonna silence me
Shout it out if you believe, I'm not afraid, I'm not ashamed!
Psalm 150
Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary;
Praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.
Psalm 149
Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise in the assembly of his faithful people
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker.
let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
For the LORD takes delight in his people.
he crowns the humble with victory.
Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.
May the praise of God be in their mouths
and a double-edged sword in their hands,
to inflict vengeance on the nations
and punishment on the peoples,
to bind their kings with fetters,
their nobles with shackles of iron,
to carry out the sentence written against them—
this is the glory of all his faithful people.
Praise the LORD.
2 Samuel 6:14
And King David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing linen ephod.
Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.

Worship the LORD with gladness;

Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
I love that song at the beginning of the blog. We sing it often at our church and God really touches my heart when we do. I recently started wondering, why can't all people of God worship Him like the many examples in the Bible. Curt Coffield, a former pastor at our church Resurrection Life said it best in a sermon about the very subject of worship, "We shouldn't worship God in our way, we should worship Him in His way." Such a simple statement yet not so because how many people of God seem to really worship God in their own way? Why don't we all dance? The Bible call us to. Why don't we all raise our hands in worship? Psalm 63:4 says "I will praise you as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands" or Psalm 134: 2 "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and praise the LORD!" Is it out of your comfort zone to lift up your hands and dance for Jesus? Are you worshiping God in YOUR own way? Don't be ashamed to truly worship God. Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: First the Jew, then the Gentile" See you have the power of God when you aren't ashamed! I love lifting my hands in worship and dancing with praise, God touches my heart and blesses me every time. So I urge you to step out of your comfort zone, do what Jesus asks of us in His Word, praise Jesus for ALL he is, not a little, not some, but ALL because He is worthy of ALL our praise!!!!

ReplyDeleteAnd King David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing linen ephod.
One of my favorite verses. I preach a sermon about this verse. We all need to get to a place in our faith where we have the reckless abandon to dance before everyone in our linen ephod for the glory of the Lord. Here in a tower David's wife (the World) looked down and was ashamed and disgusted with the King's lack of self control. But he was dancing (living) totally for God!
